A little bit about me (plus the NYY game today) . . .

Welcome, to my first ever blog!!

Leading off, my name is Leah and I am a HUGE Yankee fan.  I've been a Yankee fan since as far back as I can remember and would do anything for them to win #27 (within reason).  Hence the name of this blog, 26 and Counting.

I'm from Connecticut, smack in the middle of NY and Boston. Obviously, New York got the better of me.  I'm actually a high school-er, so my writing won't be as high caliber as some of those other blogs out there.  Any advice would be greating appreciated!!!

Anyway, back to the good stuff, the stuff that you want to hear about . . . the Yankees!!  Right now they're leading the Devil Evil Rays, 2-0.  Hideki Matsui had a two-run homer and CM Wang had a no-hitter through 4 1/3.  He's obviously been the most impressive starter in this short regular season thus far.

I'll be back later with a post-game summary, my opinions on a 2-3 start to the season, and anything that you want me to talk about.  So comment away!!

you should totally update your profile! you can confess your true-life biography and upload a cute little avatar so that your 'Read About Me' link in the right sidebar doesn't turn out to be so paltry. i know, you probably don't want too many grown men checking out your high school profile, but you could at least provide a random Yankees anecdote and somehow relate it to the meaning of life.

yey nyc baseball!

nataliepo, thank you so much for the advice!!

I'm a Bit Tor(re)n,

After being disappointed by some of Torre's intra-game tactics in the last few years, and wishing that he was replaced by Girardi for the last two years, I must confess that...........I miss Torre's presence in the dugout. The look, the drama, the Joe. Having said that, IHMO, the Yankees will have greater potential to go deep into the playoffs with Girardi and Eiland in the lead.

Joba is the man!

This guy belongs in the bullpen, permanently, and is grooming towards being the closer when the great Rivera eventually retires. Even if they have to pitch Mike Mussina every other start, they're better off with Joba in his bullpen role. Let's hope this never changes.
